Identity

The principle is simple: all three wines must come from the best possible quality of grapes and the same winemaking methodology. However, the release dates are extremely different, as the Rosso di Montalcino is released in the second year after the harvest, while the Brunello di Montalcino the fifth year after the harvest, and the Brunello Riserva the tenth year after harvest. Having different refinement times means that the harvest period is also different. The Rosso comes from a manual selection of the larger bunches of vines on the west facing side, to obtain juice and balance right from the start. The Brunello selection comes from the smaller bunches of vines, on the eastern side of the older vines in order to obtain austerity and therefore extreme integrity for a wine that is released after a decade. This principle permits us to have three wines interconnected to each other and yet still being quite different. This way every wine maintains its unique profile and can be appreciated for different occasions.
